Is there any other adhesive that works on extruded foam, other than Liquid Nails for Projects (Foam)? There are those times when the area I want to glue is small and getting out the caulk gun and tube is a little bit of overkill. It would be nice to have a alternative that will not eat through the foam.

I used a small tube (toothpaste style tube) of latex caulk to glue down my foam. That was six months ago and it has not gone anywhere or suffered any degradation.
hot glue works really well just be sure to have the glue gun set on low.
RTV silicone is all I use anymore on foam. Big areas get the silicone caulk, small get the automotive clear from the tube. Even glue it to wood with silicone. Fred
Yellow carpenters glue works too, just takes longer to set.

Jarrell,
Ceramic tile cement is a great adhesive for the foam. I know that liquid nails for foam is easier to dispense, but I have found the tile cement to be so versatile for scenery. The mastic/ adhesive is spread w/ a notched trowel, the trapped air acts as a suction for initial tack and hold and also allows for faster drying. Laminated sections of tiered foam needs to be weighted overnight to stop any edge lifting an creep.
The cement is also great for bonding rock or other castings to foam, wood or plaster. Unbeleivable for setting of portals. When placing many rock castings even the oozed out cement helps to hold all the broken rock pieces fitted between. I cut small applicators fron wood shingle to suit the need and shape of the area to be worked on. For the smaller spots, I use a small qt size can or buy the large 2 gal and place smaller quantities for simple projects.

Good old fashioned Elmer’s white glue.
Ok, so far we have:
Elmer’s White Glue
Ceramic Tile Cement
Yellow Carpenter’s Glue
RTV Silicone
Hot Glue
Latex Caulk
Any others?

I have gotten to the point that I use matte medium for gluing just about everything. I certainly use it for gluing roadbed to foam and then the track to the roadbed.
Robert is right about using the tile cement . I tried that to glue foam sheets together and it worked great. I’ll have to take his other suggestions about using it for portals, abutments, etc.
