Take Care! [:D]

Edit: The above pic’ is hosted by imgur.com which I now have an account with. Seems to be the easiest so I’ll probably give it a shot.

It would appear to be Bear friendly!!

“OK, guys, settle down. There is no reason at this point to flee the forum. Somehow, somewhere, an answer will surface. As someone else pointed out, this is a problem that will affect all of the forums, not just MR. Let’s work together to find a solution, not just threaten to exit the forum. It is not the forum’s fault, it is Photobucket’s fault.”
Good Grief, agreeing with Rich!! What’s the world coming to??!![;)] [(-D][(-D]

Cheers, the Bear.

Nice interior detailing/lighting.

I just started using railimages.com as an alternative to PB. There was a bit of a learning curve to navigating my way around but it is turning out to be a much better experience and without the long delays that went with PB. I posted my first image from railimages.com on the latest WPF.

Test with imgbb

Thank you Serge. Nice interior BTW.

Hello Guy, thank you for the compliment and I’m happy “ImgBB” worked out well for you also.

Can someone post a link to the site? Thanks

From a Google search. I just signed up.

I have been with PB for many years but it really went downhill.

I tried to find out the storage limit on IMGBB and struck out. The link posted says 16 MB max, is that per upload or max storage?

I’m beginning to realize that aging is not for wimps.

Which “embed code” did you use?

Rich

I already have an Amazon Prime account so I am using Prime Photos.

So far, so good.

In a somewhat related subject, one poster’s comment stood out for me:

“…I have been moving all my pic’s to my hard drive.”…

On-line storage provides many benefits, but always remember that should that hosting service disappear (corporate downsizing, bankruptcy, etc.), anything stored there could also suddenly evaporate. External hard drives are now very affordable insurance. I have a couple of duplicates, one of which is stored at a friend’s house as an additional precaution. I don’t want to lose 50 years of pictures. Of course the files are not available on line, so those I wish to have accessible on the net are copied to an appropriate location.

That is nice. I like creating scenes like that. I see someone playing guitar. Can you show more of the interior please?

Happening to many. Google, photobucket blocked 2017

The MRH site is discussing this now. You can upload pictures to them for free but viewing them only at their forums from what I understand.

Rich

I’ve had a blog on Google Blogger for about 12 years and it has worked almost flawlessly, about every two years the Google Web guys have to make an upgrade then things go bonkers. Another learning curve and I’m good to go for another couple of years.

I found out I can post pictures on the Forum with a link from my blog and it’s very simple and fast, much better than Photo Bucket even when it was working correctly.

I’ve also had an unknown account at Google Photo for the same amount of time because I was using Google Picasa for uploading. Rather surprising to find my pictures on Google Photo when I went to signup for an account.

When I tried to upload new pictures it allowed one OK but the second try was denied. I said to download an app to upload pictures, I did then came the second surprise. The Google app uploaded every picture in my Windows 10 Picture folder to my Google Photo Album.

I removed the app then spent two hours deleting pictures I didn’t w

For whichever reason I can’t comment, imgbb site decided I was French speaking and acted accordingly so the menu I see is in French. I just selected the first line in the menu which could be translated as " Direct Link to Picture (image, photo, etc.)"

The file name with .jpg extention then appears with the “copy” option.

Thanks, Guy. I wound up right clicking on the image and then clicked on ‘Copy Image’. Then, I simply pasted the image in the reply.

Rich

As I only use those photos hosting sites for MR Forums, I don’t want my photos to be accessible for everyone on the Internet. I then changed my settings in imgbb to be viewed only by those who had the link. Here is a final try to see if it’s working for posting in the forums.

Hello Lonewolf here’s another interior scene of the Jazz Club using https://imgbb.com/

Rich

You upload your photo on the "imbb"web site and then in the drop down menu you select HTML full link, then click COPY then paste link into the “insert link” on the MRR forum Post Boby box.

Very true! I try to keep all my pictures saved offline so I don’t lose them if a website suddenly has problems. Online storage is convenient, but I don’t trust it that much.

I have been using flickr for years. At first just to post photos to here. Since then flickr has kind of taken on a life of its own for me. Its sort of a photographer’s social media site. People post some amazing photos there on every topic which you can follow. Also with flickr, you retain the copyrights unless you want to release it to the commons. I beleive with facebook, they get the copyright to your images? Its been a long time I could be wrong.

To post to the MR forum from flickr, bring the image up by itself in flickr. Locate the share icon (an upper curving arrow) to the lower right of the image. Select bbc code. Decide on the image size. Copy the code (I use ctrl c). Paste it right into the MR forum post directly (ctrl v). You should see a bunch of code. You wont see the image until you preview it.

Sometimes I replace the text links with spaces in the code to make them invisible. Its a lot easier than it sounds.
