…I’m not looking to see Pa. hillbillies but you might let us know which address this cam is located at with lots of trains…And I am an original Pennsylvanian…
Go over to the right-hand side - there’s a link to the Horseshoe Curve Webcam, which is the fourth big block from the top.
There’s also http://stationinnpa.com/webcam/ - that webcam is a few miles to the west of the curve, but takes snapshots when trains go past. (also takes photos of large trucks or people on the porch)
PS. - There’s alot of railfans up at the curve… so calling them hillbillies is like the pot calling the kettle black.
The cam used to be controlled by the viewer… but some people decided they would rather stare at the ground than the trio of 80macs going by!
Actually, the camera (like all user-controlled ones) was slow to respond to commands…so (I’m guessing) people went crazy on the buttons trying to get it to move. Some railfans have little patience.
Yes, the Cam is controlled by the Railroaders Museum…One difference between the cam at Horseshoe and the cam at The Station Inn in Cresson is that the Horseshoe Curve is live action…you stare at the screen until something appears. The Station Inn cam operates off of motion and snaps still pics every few seconds once a train appears…it can also be triggered by a large vehicle driving by on the street between the Inn and the Railroad, or by someone moving around on the porch within the camera’s field of vision.
