Well, I did it again! For the 5th time, I bought some N scale equipment and begin to tinker. My past attempts at modeling this small scale have always ended with frustration. This time, I took a lot of effort to pick up only used items of quality. I’m starting to like this scale and I’ve already gone further than any of my previous attempts. [:P]
But, the thing is, I’m a very devout christi…I mean HO scaler! [:O] Am I doomed? Is there any hope for me? Will I turn my back on my precious HO scale Cedar Branch & Western on which I’ve lavished to much time, attention, love and money? [?] Is the devil rubbing his hands with glee as he awaits my fall from HO heaven? [}:)] Or, will an HO angel swoop in and set me back on the right track? [angel]
Yea, verily, we are all sinners, brother. We’ll pray that you see the error of your ways and, without weeping or gnashing of teeth, consign your demonic miniature models to represent an amusment park ride somewhere on your properly scaled HO empire. Amen?
you better get your A** back over to HO scale–who would want to model iNvisible scale?- i saw an empty display case in the LHS and asked why it was there- he said thats full of N scale freight cars (just kidding)
You’re doomed. N scale is like crack. You try it once and you’re hooked. You’ll be selling your HO stuff on eBay with the rest of us N junkies just to get your fix and feel "N"ormal.
WOW!!! IM NOT ALONE!!! Well I dabbled in N scale a little while ago when it looked like my new appartment would not hold my desk anywhere but where I wanted to put my layout. But thankfully I have a very understanding wife and she told me that there was alot of room in the dining room where I could put my desk so that the train room could be a train room and not a computer room with a small N scale layout. I now sit where my kitchen table should be and it is pushed into the corner out of the way and has also become a workbench for my various HO scale modeling projects. (currently making a 3 stall modern diesel service shop from Pike Stuff). I found the error of my ways and with the help of my loving wife we put everything in its place. Trains in the master bedroom (not kidding that is where the layout is) and the N scale stuff back on the hobby stores’ shelves
I model HO, and have a lot of respect for people with the patience to work with that incredibly small N scale stuff, but I have to admit, that is pretty [censored] funny!
Yea, verily, I say uNto thee, bring forth that which is Normal, scale Not in the deN of HO’ers, as that is the lower path to degradatioN. Call uNto thee thy brothers and soNs, lest they be so tempted. It is writteN that oN the fifth attempt, the light shall be revealed and thou shalt prosper and grow, as has been diviNed iN the scripture accordiNg to Kalmbach. Such is the way and the truth.

All ribbings, charlie horses, and “nuggies” that erupt from this innocent topic are in no way meant in a personal manner and should not be taken as such. Please note that modelers in all scales are considered Model Railroaders and posts in here are only meant as playful humor.
With that said, I too dabbled in N scale, but within only a few minutes of “tinkering” within of one of those finely tuned watches, I managed to turn it into a five finger powered masterpiece. That was the end of that [#dots]
Congratulations! You’ve taken the first step away from the dark side. I wish you luck in your rehabilitation, as you continue your progress into a proper modeling scale.
Firefighters can’t go to hell…we’ve already been there many times. I too was a firefighter, for four years, but as vol-firefighter. So what I’m trying to say is…we can’t go to hell because, hell would be extingiushed, caput, frozen over ECT.
As for the N scale thing,I really have never tried N before and never will. To small and my point to N scale is nothing is firefighter proof.

Making HO scale steel by the ton!!!
quote from the water boy’s mom if she was a MRR’er: "N scale is the Devil!..If i were you, I’d turn from the dark side and come back to the HO light…(everybody back slides once in awhile) Jesus really does love you and so does HO scale…chuck[:D]
Why not model both scales? Have a small HO layout like a Industrial switching layout and a small N Scale layout.? If you have the time perhaps you could display your N Scale layout at Train Shows.[:D]
In some religious circles this would label you as a hypocrite! [:D]
In all honesty, it sounds like wise advice. I do have room for both. I guess the god of HO (Tony Koester?) will forgive me while the N scale demons (The Reid brothers?) have their way as well. [V]
