Am I missing something?

Just saw this on EBAY and can’t tell if this is a joke or if I am really out of the loop and missing something.

Ebay item #180356782231

just thought I should share!

Well, everyone knows that old Lionel stuff is worth a fortune.

Yeah, the “old stuff” made in the late '70’s early '80’s…[(-D][swg][banghead]

If you bid on it you’ll be missing a lot! I think it was produced 1980-81…It sure looks older than that, and the boiler front is missing.

It may be a mistake as the other auctions start at $.99.

Hey, watch the auction and see if it sells. If so, I have a few junk, I mean rare antiques, to sell. Unload a Sears set from the 70’s and I’ll be able to buy the line of Lionels.

She says she is looking for serious offers only. So, are you guys serious? The rust on the wheels appears to be original.

The base set is the New Englander, cataloged in 1980. It came with the Engine shown, Mobil tanker, Burlington gondola, NH caboose, and a Conrail O27 boxcar which is missing. The rest of the cars are add ons from the early 80’s and late 70’s. There is about $75 worth of stuff there…max…retail… if you were to part it out. LOL.

Plus…the silver SP style NH caboose will be a perfect match for those NH F3’s you want so badly!

John!

The Rust is not only original…It is also FREE!! Pre -used & weathered rolling stock as a bonus. Imagine that.[8D][:o)] Take Care.

She’s new, has no clue and no feedback. Maybe she’s just phishing.[tdn]

Saw this morning that the starting bid was lowered to $500. Guess she figured it would go higher if she lowered it first! I still say its about $450 too high!

Probally another of those that were taught/told lionels are worth lots of money. You just need to keep them about 10 years.
