Amassing the fleet-good old fashion service

I my quest to add to the revenue generating S scale fleet, I require around 75 additional PFE reefers. One of the premier S manfactures came through by making available a fully painted but unlettered example that is a darn close to that of a PFE design. Adding these to the fleet will provide a combined 103 car PFE reefer fleet, now on to the private operators!

The rep seemed bemused as they had a similar sell last month for the same kit to a customer that required only 50 [(-D]

Dave:

Good on you. [bow] I am a firm believer that one can NEVER have too many reefers. In ANY scale. [bow] I’m glad to know that S scale is offering something close to those PFE babies for you.

Now, the next project should be to get a couple of S-scale “Valley Mallet” 2-6-0’s to haul the little critters.

A “Valley Mallet” could pull 75 reefers on level track. [8D] … How long are your reefer trains?

Mark

Hmmm…You do live in California, don’t you, Tom?..[:o)]

How about some express reefers for your passenger trains.

Mark

Tom:

Out here, we call THOSE kind ‘Tokes’.[:P]

But NO self-respecting Californian can have a train without those neat orange cars with ice hatches. They’re as essential to a proper freight train as–um–let’s see–a ‘coke’ car at an Eastern steel plant.

(Gotcha! [;)]
