I have a franklin 88 the will all of a reverse directions. I have cleaned the track and wheels used contact cleaner on the e unit and nothing has helped. Anyone have any suggestions?

Those little 4-4-0’s can be finicky. I spray a little CRC 2-26 (plastic safe electronic cleaner) on the e-unit. Also, I cleaned all the wheels, engine and tender, with a fiberglass pen. This really helped in reliable operation. Even so, sometimes it gets stuck in one direction, or neutral, and I have to play with AF 15B until I get it going the right way.
