American Flyer Switch Repair

On a right hand switch, the frog (I think that is what it is called) moves too far to the right so my diesels coming into the switch on the curve ride up on the “frog” and derail. I could try bending the, what I would call the tail of the frog, so it hits the left rail sooner, keeping the frog from swinging so far to the right. But I am afraid that it may break and then I would need to replace the frog. If anyone understands what I just wrote and has a solution I’d appreciate hearing it.

For starters, move this thread to the Classic Toy Trains forum where the American Flyer guys reside.

Incidentally, it is not the frog that moves. The frog is a stationary piece. The problem you are referring to is the point rails which move left and right to route locos and rolling stock either straight through the switch or through the divergent route.

Good luck !
