Amtrak 145 with pilot damage

I managed to get out for the “last run” of Amtrak 145, coming in on train #1 The Sunset Limited on 2/20. (Okay, last run is being overly dramatic, but the unit has been sitting at Redondo ever since getting its pilot repaired).
First is a shot of the train winding through the tracks just south of Mission Tower.

Second is a shot of the train backing out past Terminal Tower.

Third, for the roster fans… is a classic 3/4rs roster.

Fourth, is a from above roster, taken from the Macy Street Viaduct.

That’s one down (Phase III P42). Five to go (Phase I P42, Phase II P42, Phase III F40, Phase III P40, and Phase IV P42).

Thanks for looking.

Charles,

Great shots of the 145, very sharp. Thanks for posting.

Very nice high quality photos…as usual. Enjoyed them. New Amtrak paint change too…

Exactly! Thanks, Charles for posting them. [tup][tup]

Thanks for the kind words, All.

I have to say, since I got the 40D (used even), I have been happier with the sharpness in my images. I’m using the same lens that I used on the Rebel XT, but the 40D just seems to synch with it better.
