Amtrak adds Wolverine Service trains for December, January holiday travel
Perhaps this extra round trip should be run Friday’s and Sunday’s through the busier parts of the year (July - October, for example)
It’s high time to add a couple more frequencies between Chicago and Detroit on the Wolverine Corridor, not all of the trains have to go to Pontiac, which will eventually served by the new MI-train commuter service. I’d like to see something restored to Toledo as well.
Norfolk Southern has a lot to say about adding frequencies between Chicago and Porter, IN. NS is not operating on Christmas Day and is allowing the extra train to Ann Arbor starting the day after Christmas, as not to delay intermodal trains before Christmas. Until the Chicago situation is cleaned up for good, probably won’t see
any new permanent trains or weekend service.
