Hey everyone,
I was very surprised to see an Amtrak Dash 8 lead Train 21 today. Here’s a photo of #504: http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=149452
Take care.

Nice shot! Whenever I go to Lockport I always have the feeling the old GM&O line is “sleepy” until a train like the one you shot comes through…Sleepy?..not in your life, then there is the BNSF transcon mainline just down the street!
When ever I go to Lockport, I only see BNSF locals and main trains, what times do those AMTRACK’s come through? and does that line ever have freight on it?
Thanks, Jim!
Andrew,
There are six Amtrak trains per day on that line. Joliet is about ten minutes south of Lockport, so you’ll have a pretty good idea of what time they arrive at Lockport. There are two morning trains. A southbound arrives Joliet at 9:05 A.M. A northbound arrives Joliet at 8:54 A.M. Then, a northbound arrives Joliet at 1:10 P.M. A southbound then arrives Joliet at 4:15 P.M. After the southbound at 4:15 P.M., another southbound arrives at 6:05 P.M. The last train of the day is a northbound, and it arrives at 7:32 P.M. In order, the train numbers are 300, 323, 22, 21, 305 and 324. I hope this helps.
Have a great night!
Nick [:)]
