Seeing the post about Walthers flagship trains reminded me to ask a question - what would I need to put together a current Empire Builder in HO? So far I have 4 Ph 4 Superliners, 2 Express Box Cars and 1 Atlas 8-32 in Pepsi.

The Amtrak Empire Builder is usually around 8 to 10 cars long. Two F40PH’s could be used but present day GE P40 or P42’s are used. The consist east of Spokane is usually about like as follows: Baggage, Coach/Dorm Step up, Pullman or two, Coach usually three, Diner, Sightseer Lounge, Coach/Baggage, Coach, Pullman. All except the baggage are Superliner cars. There sometimes is some Amtrak express box cars on the end of the train. At Spokane westbound the train is split with the Sightseer lounge, Coach/Baggage, Coach & Pullman going to Portland while the rest of the train goes to Seattle via the Stevens Pass line. A single locomotive handles the Portland section while two locomotives pull the Seattle train.
