Amtrak fires its first shot towards Chicago Metra.....

Ha-ha-ha, knew the day of reckoning would arrive at some point. First will be the leveling of fees collection and cost sharing of Chicago Union Station. I am pretty confident I can guess what the number two issue will be and it is not going to make Joe Lunchpail happy.[}:)]

Excerpted from a letter to one of the Editors at Railway Age Magazine from Amtrak explaining their recent actions concerning Chicago Union Station…

"“Our Chicago Union Station action was simply about removing the extra general and administrative (G&A) expenses associated with a redundant corporate entity, nothing more sinister. Metra’s actions are all about trying to obfuscate the incredible deal they have been getting as the majority users and minimal funder of their most important station location, and deferring the soon-to-come day where they, like their NEC brethren, need to pay their fairly allocated share of operating and capital costs. "

Enough of the “Joe Lunchpail” pejorative for us daily commuters.[tdn]

It is Joe Youtuber’s try at an insult and trolling. He has some weird obsession with Illinois, it seems to be fueled out of jealousy.

Something in the attitudes of cheesheads.

Illini Badger forever.

Only a Wisconsinite would display such a vulgar vocabulary. Such words are banned on this forum.

I think I saw that on another youtube video…[:D]

CMStPnP, Some people have a hard time laughing at themselves. [8-|]

Whenever I rent a car in Milwaukee with Illinois plates I always tell the counter person with a laugh…now I can drive 25-30 mph over the speed limit, cut people off, and blow my horn at any trival item without worrying about upsetting anyone…I am always met with laughter.[:D]

One thing I don’t get though. Put them on a freeway and Illinois drivers are speed demons. Put them on a Metra train and they are all content to mope along at speeds well below what the track can support and they get all hot and bothered when you point this out to them.[}:)][8-|]

Joe Youtuber, the expert on track speed…

no12944, click on his screen name and read his activity, 80% of his posts are trolling others…no real positive contribution to the discussion via posting. Just hangs out for his opportunity to make a negative comment somewhere.

Weasel. You edited your obscene insult.

So, wouldn’t have the 20% been positive? I am glad you took a breather from expanding your Youtube knowledge to check ALL of my posts, and come back with a breakdown of them. Nice to see what you do with your free time.

By the way, I don’t think you know what a troll is, otherwise you might not care for yourself much. Anyone that uses the “Joe Lunchpail” is just trolling the Metra riders, whom you seem to have a real jealousy issue with. Seek help. Maybe even watch a Youtube self help video.

I suspect there is a back story there that explains his obsessive resentment of Chicago and Metra.

He didn’t even do it right. It would have to be “Forever Illini Badger.”

I still can’t figure out why New Jersey and Massachusetts drivers don’t have an obscene little acronym or initialism. Perhaps it is no more necessary than just mentioning one of those state names in an appropriate tone of voice…

In any case, can we all agree not to use “Joe Lunchpail” as a pejorative here, going forward?

Charlie, you didn’t like it so I took it off.

And I am an Illini Badger forever. I know both sides of the rivalry.

Lunchpail Joe would not be compensated at a level to be able to afford to ride METRA. Three Martini Lunch Joe would have the financial resources to ride METRA and with the alcaholic intake, the requirement to ride METRA rather than drive.

The fares aren’t that steep unless you ride much more than twenty miles from the downtown stations. Besides, a monthly ticket can knock down the fare by quite a bit from single rides.

Hey, I resemble that remark![swg]

Didn’t that whole “Joe So-and-So” thing start with T.Rump’s “Joe the Plumber” fiction? I always thought the “Joe…” thing was more like a generic, slightly caustic term, not an attempt at real nastyness.

After all, what’s so bad about a lunchpail (unless it’s a real pail)?
