amtrak michigan services question

I am going up to michigan to see the 95 MPH trains tommorow, and after looking at the timetable, noticed that on that segment of track the train was going 50 miles in 50 minutes, does anyone know if the limit is only 60? it was my knowledge that it was alreday at 90 before the speed increase.
any info would be greatly appreaciated
thanks

There was a post on this exact topic just a couple of weeks ago. I bet if you look at earlier pages of this and the TRAINS.COM forum, you’ll find it without too much difficulty.

Regardless, how did it work out?

Which train are you talking about here?

Yes, there was a post on this topic a few days earlier. The direct link to the other posting is http://www.Trains.com/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=47231

Anyway, I assume that you are talking about the Chicago to Detroit corridor line? I would guess that the lower speed limits are on the track east of Kalamazoo, MI, where Amtrak does not own the track (this isformer Conrail trackage which I believe is now owned by NS if I am not sadly mistaken). The 90 MPH to 95 MPH upgrade was only on the portion that Amtrak owns from somewhere arounds the Indiana -Michigan state line to Kalamazoo (sorry, I do not know where the exact boundaries of this portion are).
