what type of colors would I want to use if I custom paint an amtrak p40 in phase V ??? also please include what the manufactuer paint is from please. any tips???

There are no perfect paint matches yet…especially for the phase V blue.
But this is what most Amtrak modelers use:
- Nose + roof blue color - use Floquil Light Blue
- Body silver color - use Floquil Platinum Mist
- Trucks, plow, and grey underbody color - use Floquil Southern Pacific Lark Dark Grey
Of course you’ll need the Microscale Amtrak phase V decal set as well. It’s number 87-1267
thanks for the info ill give it a try. also will i be able to brush it on or will i have to use an airbrush?
You could brush paint if you want. But I doubt it will turn out looking very good.
If I were doing it, I’d definitively use an airbrush. Much smoother, and less paint (not thick) is always good for smaller scales like HO and N.
