I want to see if they’re smart enough to make the (many) buses special to match the desired ‘stewardship of the brand’. It’s a remarkably good opportunity to experiment with amenities and get things right while there are comparatively willing deep pockets to develop production…

I presume the name is in reference to the mother-load gold mining region of the foothills of the Sierras on the east side of the San Joaquin Valley. Tributaries if the SJ River in the Valley were also dredged for gold.

I would guess that the people who actually ride it don’t care about the name it is called. They simply say they are taking Amtrak, or the train.

Could have had a more authentic name for the SJV trains…CowTrak, HeatLiners, FruitLiners.

I’m gonna be real, this is accurate. If I were to rename the line, I’d name it after the old Santa Fe Valley Flyer.
