How many of these units did Amtrak order?
Well, currently it’s ‘none’ as the state DOTs purchased the locomotives in production, as of which I think there are 63 ordered with a total of 12 more corridor options on the contract, and 150 LD versions with larger fuel tanks.
Note that the terrible Cascades paint design has a huge WSDOT logo and a small Amtrak one with a grab iron through it.
So only two units are running right now?
IDOT 4604 and 4611 were recently at 18th Street in Chicago and have also been making test runs.
