The Goose Steps were reserved to critize the People’s Republic of California in the article about BNSF. However, I wonder how much it is going to cost to STUDY the fixes, rather than actually applying them to 30th Street.
Suggestion: directly connect the 30th Street MFL/Subway Surface station to the Amtrak/Regional Rail/NJ Transit station.
I remember that direct entry from the 30th st. station platforms to the MFL station existed in the late1950’s. The stairwells are now blocked off.
Goosie will have plenty of idiotic suggestions.
Close all Amtrak stations in Philadelphia. Let the denizens eat ‘cheese steaks’.

Vasyl, I think we need to don gas masks whet the Goose bloviates.
What do have against Philly, Mr. Hays?
I agreee with John Simpson 100 per cent. My biggest hope for this project is that it garners Amtrak’s bottom line with plenty of revenue. I’ve always been a big supporter of Amtrak and passenger rail in general and have never been one of those self-sufficiency freaks but I do favor anything at all that will grow revenues for Amtrak.
John Simpson. If I remember correctly, the original passageway was closed because of vandalism, homeless people begging there and using it as a bathroom and people being robbed in there. I think thats what happened to passageways in New York City. If you’re old enough to remember, there used to be one on sixth ave. between 40th. Street and 34th. Street. Also, there was one between Broadway and Seventh Ave on 32nd. Street. This was by the old Gimbel’s basement.
How about extending PATCO so it has a direct connection to 30th st? And dream on: extend Patco a little farther west perhaps across the river. Isn’t the Drexel campus over there?
That’s great; about time.
