Amtrak sending mixed signals?

I looked at the Amtrak site online and saw what looked like a line going through Cajon Pass. I know that they RAN there, i thought they stopped operating in Cajon Pass? Everytime i railfan there i never see ANY Passenger! Do they run there or not? Thanks, Ben

The Southwest Chief operates through Cajon Pass daily in each direction. You have to be there early or late as the westbound passes very early in the AM and the eastbound passes just after dark.

Yes the Southwest Chief still passes through there. Maybe you were thinking of the much-lamented Desert Wind. That went through Cajon Pass, in the afternoon, until 1997.
