And as usual, Amtrak is late again. But in a good way this time. First story I’ve heard about a bomb scare for Amtrak.

Just what we need, an invitation for TSA pukes to infest Passenger Rail Facilities!

How 'bout having full-time bomb dogs on the Left Coast trains?

Joe Knight, here’s another bomb scare-Amtrak.
Got called by the Asst Supt and was directed to ride the The Starlight from LAUPT…something about a bomb.
The Div. Engr. also riding, said the threat had to do with a message that a bomb planted under or aside the track of the Starlight’s path would be detonated.
Signal maintainers and section foremen were alerted and instructed to inspect…I had, all of us, had a beautiful, though at higher stress level, ride to San Jose.
A commute train got me to SFO, and I was home in L.A that night…in 1979.
Just another day for an LA Div Road Foreman of Engines…
