An interesting lashup

The NS branch line that runs past my house is usually served by GP-38s and an occassional GP-59. On rare instances I’ve seen an SW1500. Today, however, the train was led by not one, but two SW1500s still in their Conrail paint (although patched). Here are a few pics of them:

Go figure. Takes 2 to haul two cars but only 1 for about 9 or 10 cars.
