I stopped off on my way home from work to watch the trains, as usual. In the yard I saw an unpatched SP SD40T-2 (SP 8268). That alone would make for a good day.
I saw able to get some photographs of an ARMN reefer with a high brake wheel (ARMN 764011). I also saw ARMN 111133, but I am still waiting to see ARMN 111111.
Then I saw my first loaded CWR train. I have seen plenty of empty ones, but this was my first loaded one. It had 2 UP SD70Ms; a MP 4 bay, open top hopper, several CNW CWR cars; two UP for picking up and laying down rail; and an UP open top hopper.
The last train of the day was a local that came into the yard. They took off the EOTD and the head of the mechanical department for the yard came out and took it. I guess it must have been not working properly and all of the carmen were busy. Unfortunately, they were on the other side of the tracks, so I was not able to talk to them.
Also, it appears as though some company (or companies) might be shipping tomato products in TBOX boxcars. There is a local that has a couple of tomato processing plants online. The only other place that local switches is a box plant that sporadically receives paperboard (I have never seen TBOX boxcars paperboard at a box plant). Since the TBOX boxcars are intermingled with RBLs and are appearing regularly on the train, I suspect that they might be hauling out tomato products. I do see non-excess height, 70 ton, 50’ IL XMs and XLs hauling tomato products regularly.
