As a refresher: in my modeling world CNW bought UP. Thus I had decided to ‘patch’ some UP engines into CNW colors. That gave me:
CNW 1683:

I have almost now completed CNW 8730:

…and am now going to start working on a B40-8 (ex-UP, at least the theory!) to be painted into CNW colors:

Now that is some cool freelancing! Good example of a realistic “What if” business scenario. Had the fortunes been reveresed, something like this could have happened.

That LMX unit especially, the decals are sharp, no fuzzy edges or visible film. The patches also look nice.

Here’s an idea, how about a UP HERITAGE UNIT. Could be pretty cool.

I am going to repaint that LMX unit into full CNW. We’ll see how that goes.

As far as the heritage unit…if I can get an SD70ACe for less than an arm and a leg (just an arm perhaps?) then I’ll try it. CNW 1995/UP Heritage Unit…nice idea.
