Looks like a math fail here. 10,330 daily boardings times 365 days a year equals 3,770,000 a year, not the 540,000 in the story. Anyone know the real answer??

It is “10,330 daily boardings ACROSS ALL MODES.” Presumably the majority of the boardings will be on buses.

Ah, looks like a correction to the article since my comment…different wording now. Glad for the clarification.

S’pose the igloo-shaped station structure is a deliberate pun on the almost “arctic” name of the station?

It’s a sharp-looking design. I’m glad they took the effort (and spent the money) to build something interesting and attractive versus a mere shelter that does the job at minimal cost but makes no contribution to the landscape. There’s gonna be a building there; might as well take the trouble to make it worth looking at.

This station is located right next to a freeway, and its distinctive appearance - and the “rave lighting” - have certainly made people notice it. With luck, this visibility might get Amtrak and Metrolink some new riders.

It’s cool in hot Southern California.
