However, I am not sure that the main station is still visible from that hotel because has changed dramatically since than (4.5 million population now).

My answer is yes, I was graduated as a patternmaker (building models for foundry industry) and although constructing a layout is not the same thing, this proficiency helps me in woodworking. During last two years time I tried to improve my other skills such as constructing a multi-block analog system (my childhood dream), working with flexible tracks, and as you already know, scratch building. These were all a mystery to me in 2005.
