And now for something completely different... Introduction with pictures

Hello everyone,
There are many of you out there that know me already from another site. For those that don’t, I have a small to medium sized GRR in KCMO. I look forward to meeting some new people as well as continuing to build on the comraderie already established. Our layout is going thru an expansion at the moment and also some turnout repairs. I will post some older pictures of the first line and the expansion before the recent work was performed. I am still awaiting the trestle so the track has sincxe been removed from those areas. The trestle will be 31ft in total length and involve two areas. One is a crossover of a track and a wash and the other is for a wash and future water feature. For those who haven’t seen the photo’s before (or if you have) please enjoy.
I look forward to talking to ya’ll.

Hello Joe,
Very nice indeed. Looks like a lot of work was done. I don’t think your line qualifies as “small” anymore. How many feet of track is down now? Great progress! Keep us posted on your updates. Later eh…Brian.

Nice, Joe,

If your layout is small, mine is miniscule.

If you want it bigger, you might get trackage rights from your neighbors and put gates in the fence for the trains.

(I wonder if anyone’s actually done that? [:O]

Nice to see you here!

Hey guys,
Having been to Marty’s recently… I guess that I am still tring to figure my place in the world of GRR. I have seen some really extensive layouts out there and was looking for a comparison.
BTW The easment plan has been discussed and we might have a neighbor that would be willing.[tup][swg] Who knows.
Later,
Joe

go to page 5 of general discussion , under ben learned to post pictures, thats my GRR.
HOW many feet of track do you have??? i have several bridges that i made, one is 27 ft. and a metal one 10 ft. and three around 54 inches. long. ben

Joe,
Marty has the unfair advantage, namely 4-1/2 acres! Seeing his yard in person inspired me to get track down as soon as I got home. Marty’s is also a number of years of work. The family and I plan to be out in the country in a little less than three years. Then I will be looking at what I call a MAJOR layout. Rent a Bobcat and have at it in the yard. The area we want is in five acre divisions. Then my problem will be keeping the deer out. I have seen how high deer can jump so 1 high chain link fence will be in order. Keep up the great work and stay friendly with those neighbors [;)] ! Later eh…Brian. [8D]

Joe if your layout is Small, and David’s is Miniscule, then that makes mine Microscopic![:D]

Ben,

This is really only a guestimation. I’m think’n somewhere’s between 300 and 350 ft. The back fence is 104 ft and from the shed to the corner is 80ft ±.
