The catenary is beautiful to look at but the GG1’s would be more impressive with the pantographs up, at least giving the illusion of using the overhead wires. Beautiful layout!

one word fantastic

I may be a child of the 21st Century. However, this made me wonder if I was watching trains trackside in the forties. Well done Andy.

Amazing layout.

Being a NEC modeler and railfan I really appreciate the amazing detail this layout! The catenary is such an accurate replica of the real thing. I can’t wait to receive GMR 2013! One day I hope to model catenary on my layout using Rubbo’s techniques.

Video and photos were great and I have the article in the 2013 mag, altogether its awesome, thanks for sharing.

Great Work! I’m also modelling the NEC - Harrisburg line, modern day. Fortunately only have 2 tracks to hang catenary on but it will be a lot easier seeing Andy’s techniques. And thanks for helping Tichy make the insulators. I’ve been looking for a source for those.

Andy, Read the article in 2013 GMR before I saw this video. The article was great, the video was awesome. I too lived near the PRR’s main line (2 Phila. blocks away) and hung out with the men in the Margie Yard’s switch office/crew room, an 8 or 9 stub end track yard off the 4 track Main Line (btwn Phila. Zoo & North Broad St. Sta.) Loved watching the “G,s” making time, the MP54,s hustling by and the freights hauling the goods. The yard is gone, the GG1’s are gone but the memory’s are not, that was long ago, thanks for the visual memory’s. P.S. To Steve Bishop: get the 2013 GMR and read the article. It will explain the “Pan’s Down” reason & what Andy is doing about it. PDE,Jr Rated: 15; 5 f/vid.; 5 f/art’l; 5 f/ work!

Very nice representation of the NY div physical plant, Andy.

A very authentic replica in every way. If I wasn’t told otherwise I would think that it was G Scale

I noticed some “forced perspective” in the underpass. Excellent work! Definitely what I want to do on my dream layout.

very nice layout …makes mine look small lol

very nicely done, will the pantographs be running on the wires in the future? Are the wires rubber band style or actual wire?
keep us up to date on MR web site if possible

Andy
It’s great to see that you put in a lot of hours to come
out with CORRECT PRR Catenary.
VERY GOOD JOB

nice

When will we get to see it running with the pantographs up?

Really nice layout. I liked the underpasses alot.

Actually, I hated the video-just kidding. Makes me want to rip out everything I’ve done and start over. Incredible, simply incredible.

GREAT LAYOUT!!!
