“The board, made up entirely of Bush’s appointees”=puppets
Does anybody know who’s on this board?
So the vote wasn’t announced… if the board is a bunch of puppets for Little W., do we really need a scorecard? I think I have a good guess on what the final score was - all the good puppets voted yes and 0 voted for no (bad puppet).
I like how the story ends by saying that the “new” plan requires action by Congress. I don’t think that Congress is going to go for this plan. So, in effect, Bush’s Board of Puppets did nothing.
My plan… seperate Amtrak from our government and then give Amtrak their own board of directors to work with. Oh wait, maybe that’s what Bush’s Board of Puppets was really refering to with the idea of “create a subsidiary to own and manage the corridor”. The government sells Amtrak to Amtrak.
I think it will make it easier to kill the rest of the long dx trains if the NE is seperate.
Bottom line…passenger service is not profitable. We need to decide weather we want it or not. If yes, do it right and give it what it needs to be functional. If no, shut it down. This limp along program isn’t working.
