Much to my surprise our best LHS in Oklahoma City is closing after 34 years due to retirement of the owners. I will miss them as I made my usual Saturday stop almost every week. They were very well stocked. You could walk in and ask for almost anything and they had it. If perchance they didn’t they could get it in within a week. Always had a lot of detail parts and the unusual. The shop is Woodwards Hobbies. That leaves this metro area with only one shop.
I spent many happy hours in the early 80’s at Woodwards. Tom and Katy are really good folks.
Here’s wishing them a happy & enjoyable retirement, they have earned it.

I am sorry to hear this also. Only 43 years? Seems like they were around a lot longer than that. I moved to Kansas City in 1970 from Oklahoma, have been here since, but every trip back home included a stop at Woodwards. I have a kitbashed ATSF FP45 that someone had built and put in Woodwards for sale that I still run, the workmanship matches or excels Genesis offering coming out now.
