I read here that a 2% grade is standard.But how much is that in say every 36in. .5 in or 1in or what.Thanks for any help
2% = .02
.02 x 36 = .72
So in 36" a 2% grade would go up or down a little less than 3/4".

Don’t forget that if there is a change in grade involved at either end of that 36" run, you’ll also need to allow for room to transition from inclined to level or vice-versa.
