Just got another notice (March 1) to send the DVD back or pay for it. In small letters it says that because you didn’t order it you don’t have to pay for it. To be honest, I haven’t found time to look at it yet. I subscribe to 2 of their publications, 1 new & 1 for many years…just wish they would stop bugging me.
Just curious. Do they supply a postpaid envelope so you can just leave it in your mailbox for pickup?
You didn’t order it. It’s yours; do with it what you wish. Keep it, throw it out, give it to someone for their birthday, etc. When they send you a bill, throw the bill away.
Dave is right, postal regulations and consumer protection laws in most states clearly state that anything sent to you that you did not order is yours - free and clear.
Being a LONG time subscriber, I had this fight with MR years ago when they first started the DVD thing - I gave it away to a newbie, it was the most boring thing I had ever watched.
But then again I’m just not into the video thing like some people these days.
Call them up and tell them that if the notices don’t stop, you will turn it over to your state’s consumer protection agency.
Personally, I think it is some of the rudest marketing I have ever seen from someone I have done business with for nearly 40 years. You expect sleezy high pressure marketing from car dealers and sweepstakes operators, not from long standing publishing houses.

Enjoy the DVD. Ignore the bill. If you don’t want the DVD I’ll take it and it can disappear into my collection forever.
I mentioned in my post that I did see the notice that I didn’t have to return it, also they require a stamp to tell them you are not interested.
Yes I received my 2nd notice today also. The disc would not play in my laptop so maybe when I have time to watch on the the family player (if I can find where I put the disc) I’ll make up my mind.
I would inform them that I didn’t order it, and therefore, don’t have to pay for it. If they keep sending the notices, tell them that you will take legal action against them if they don’t stop.
If I were going to send anything, I’d send them a notice that they can make an appointment and drop by to pick it up. If they want to come in and see my layout and run some trains, I’d be up for that, too.
I keep getting them too. I didn’t order it, so it’s mine to keep. Last time they did this I asked them not to send anymore and if they did I was going to file a complaint with the Postal Inspectors Office. Maybe I will send it back; after I run my belt sander over it a few times!!!

Folks, this has been discussed before, and there was a clear statement from our host on the issue only a few weeks back.
Enjoy the DVD and ignore the notice.
