another project to share - How I Made My Brick Walls

I had such positive feedback on my posting (http://cs.trains.com/trccs/forums/t/168431.aspx) a couple of weeks ago on How I Made My Granite Block Retaining Walls I decided to do another blog posting on How I Made My Brick Walls. My Brick Walls project is not as elaborate as Granite Block one was but hopefully you will enjoy it nonetheless.

Thanks,
Randy

I remember your first posting. Thank you for another follow up. I really like the multi-color of the walls. That came out really nice. Nice close up photos btw. Something I haven’t mastered. Your photos made me wonder how many reasons are there for using walls. The first image came to mind… ‘vertical’ easements… and aiding in that aspect. But the over all use of walls is nice. I thank you again for the photos.

Nice work Randy!

Thank you Keith.

As for the multi-colors…I took the simple approach on this - I let the plaster color be the mortar color and varied the red when dry brushing it on. Also with the India Ink I was able to spray more here and less there and that resulted in a neat affect. I was quite happy with it.

Very well done. The dry brushing enhances the aged look of the wall.

Excellent you excellency! [bow]
