Another scenery tool

While grocery shopping with my wife this morning I spotted some small rubber (actually they’re that heat-resistant blue stuff) spatulas about 1 1/2" wide by about 2 1/2" long. They were cheap so I got one to try out for applying drywall compound on the mountainside I’m working on. Great tool! Much better than the putty knife I’ve been using. It’s nice and flexible and the end result looks much better than I had been achieving with the putty knife. A full sized spatula would work well for larger areas. I guess the old saying that anything and everything is fair game for the layout is true.

Great Idea, maybe I will “borrow” some from my mom [:)]

Sounds interesting. I went the other direction and use the little pointed artists knife. It makes nice rock formations. I use my putty knife as tool to hold the drywall mud as I scoop it on.

Somehow, I don’t think your mom would care to use it for mixing cake batter after you’ve used it for plaster! [V]

Hi seamonster

Yes every thing is fair game for the railroad but don’t borrow it from DM’s kitchen.

They get very funny about it
