ANOTHER SUBSCRIPTION FRAUD WARNING.........

Just received another bogus subscription offer, this one is from “Orbital Publishing Group” in Reno, Nevada.

Just thought I would pass it along in hopes none of you would fall for it, even though MR has stated in their magazine that these are “fake” I feel it never hurts to have too many warnings.

Beware and remember, only renew through the magazine…

Mark

This is the same outfit I warned about a couple of months ago - different name, but the same post office box.

I got the little form (since shredded) from them in yesterday’s mail - soliciting me for RMC since MR netted them no response. The address is still taken from the Carstens mailing list (don’t ask how I know, but I AM certain.)

What’s really hilarious is their impeccable timing. In both cases, I got their solicitation shortly AFTER renewing with the legitimate publisher (for two and three years, not a year payable in two installments…)

I get them for my issues of Runners World

While I haven’t gotten anything from them concerning renewals for Kalmbach and RMC I have received them for a few other magazines for myself and my wife. I personally would never renew from anyone except the publisher through their website or address.

The really bad thing is that many people (Mother-in-law and Sister-in-law, as examples) tend to renew every magazine every time they get a renewal notice. Some magazines send them almost monthly! I subscribed to a poultry magazine last January and the day I got my first issue there was an envelope with my “HURRY…it’s time to renew your subscription!”. I think some publishers do that just because of the reason many don’t watch their subscription dates.
