Any Central of Georgia Modelers??

I am modeling the Man o War for a friend for Christmas, and am trying to track down a close model for the Budd observation on that train. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

I am going to do quite of bit of searching myself, but would love a short answer.

I’ve thought about it. I lived in Macon for 37 years, so the C of G is my favorite line. The Nancy Hanks II in particular. On30 really did it for me though, so I am into On30 now. I have a good article I put together on Macon’s Brosnan Yard on our site if you would like the link.

I may just have to take a look, so please post the link. The friend that I am doing this for was an engineer on the Central. I myself don’t have much interest in the CoG (no offense), although I do like their passenger trains.

With the brass car sides from the CoG Historical Society, the Man o War will be easy to model. The only car they haven’t done is the Ft Benning (Budd observation).

Here you go.

I used to ride the Man O War hence my screen name. I can remember the car but I have no pictures of it, no money or camera at the time. Some where there are a few of the engines. Nice of you to do this of a friend. Good Luck. Phil

You may like the link I am posting below. There are some great shots of the Man o War. All the Central of Georgia stuff is towards the bottom of the page.

Nice link. I downloaded the b&w photo showing the observation car.

I’m glad this is the “passenger” Man-o-War and not a “Portugeuese Man of War!”

I think that this observation car is going to make things a little tough. If need be I am sure that I can work with the Walthers budd observation, Evergreen, and some putty. I would probably just use the sides from the car anyway and use a TSP core kit to finish it off. Train Station Products does sell the boat tail ends for the roofs now (I believe they even sell a blunt end observation end).
