Reading the Erie W 28th Street Freight Station entry on the Industrial & Offline Terminal Railroads site, I see mention is made of the Terminal Stores Building (aka Terminal Warehouse - build in 1891), and the railroads which served it: originally NYC, then NYC, Erie & LV, with NYC eventually dropping out after the West Side improvements (aka High Line) in the 1930s (not sure why NYC gave up on what was apparently a big source of traffic at the time, but I guess the logistics in converting from ground level to 2nd floor access was too much).
Being a 120 year old block-sized building in Manhattan, it has lots of history and corresponding lots of articles; some examples:

There is discussion about the usage of this building - currently art galleries and offices; in the recent past mini-storage at rather high rates; and the 1990s - notably the “Tunnel” nightclub*, among other things. I presume the rail service to the Terminal Stores building ended in the mid-1970s, with the advent of ConRail and the end of Manhattan rail-car float service.
Anyway, lots of good vintage outdoor image are easily found…but were are the interior shots from the act
