Any Large Scale indoor runners out there?

Hey gang!

Oh, yes I love gawking over the O gauge when I go to my
dealer, he shows me all the new goodies…but I am into
LGB trains, and run indoors. I actually enjoy OGRJ and other
magazines because the editorial content is more focussed on
indoor running and not too bogged down in prototype railroads
with miles of staging tracks!

I have even priced compared LGB against Lionel–bang for buck–and LGB is a great deal if you got the space.

Just give me a whistle if you happen to like large scale!

HI Tom,

I have a ‘G’ scale that runs around my Christmas Layout.

I also have a steam set that some day I will set up. A couple of years ago stoped a very large train shop in New York state that specialized in ‘G’ scale. I believe the name was North Ridge Trains just out side of Rockchester, NY. They had an indoor layout of 2,500 sq ft. I was very impressed for this being a store.

Tom,

Do you have a layout or run on the floor? Any pics?

Ridge Road Station, Holley, NY about 40-45 minutes west of Rochester, NY, or east of Buffalo.

I like LGB and have occasionally used them around the tree. The quality is excellent and the prices not unreasonable. They are all plastic, and have capability for but no built in command control or operating couplers if that is important to anyone. Also, unlike Lionel they are sold around the world, so their volume of production may be larger, accounting for the price similarity despite being larger. For those with smaller budgets, Aristo-Craft and USA Trains make some very nice equipment, as does Bachmann at even lower price points.

There is a rather large G gauge modular club in Nashville, Tennessee. They are in one of the shopping malls, 100 oaks mall,I think.
