I got a nice Kato F40ph engine and some decent amfleet coaches that I’m thinking about re-decaling in the IVb livery of the modern day. Now I have a phase III F40 that id rather not make into an unpowered unit. Any prototype of f40’s still running with amtrak?
I do not think Amtrak has any F40PH’s still in service - The GE P40/P42 engines replaced them years ago. As you noted, some were converted to un-powered ‘cab’ cars.
I still have a Walthers F40 in phase IV pulling some Walthers Heritage & Amfleet cars - Maybe I will get a Athearn Genesis someday…

Edit: Son just home from university, tell him my problem, he looks at his old man with great pity, just do this, and hey presto we’re back in business. As long as I can remember how-to. [:^)]
