any old particulars old trains people have

i have an old loinel in the basment from like the 20’s any body else have an old train like that

I am old and I am particular, but I don’t think I have what you want, at least I hope not…

Nope, sold them all for outragous prices and bought modern stuff that looks and runs better.

I found the train on Dec. 1st. It’s a 224 model i Think it’s a pre-war engine it still works like new

Lionel 224 - 2-6-2 Prairie, came with diecast metal or bakelite tender with or without whistle (2224T ). Years manufactured 1938-46. As near as I can tell from my limited references the pre-war units had a flat rear cab floor, where the post war units had a rounded floor.

Classic Toy Trains did an article about this series of locomotives in the February 2000 edition.

I’ve still got my old Marx, but of course it hasn’t been around nearly as long as yours. I got it for Christmas back in 1969.

Tracklayer

i have an old COX army trainset

The oldest locomotive I have is a Bachmann GP40 that was made in Germany in 1977. I still use this locomotive today and have even gone so far as to put a DCC decoder in it. The oldest railroad cars I have go back to the mid 60’s, from Tyco and Bachmann, and I have a couple of OO cars from Mantua, with the old truck mounted international hook and loop couplers around here someplace.

I still have my American Flyer Northern that I received for my Birthday in 1955. I keep it since we used it on my Dad’s S scale layout for several years and it brings back many memories.

it was my great grampa’s from when he a kid.we lost the tender trying to get a replacement from the trading post train shop in cleveland.only like 20 min. to an hour away. we have it under the christmas tree right now.still have old passenger cars that came with it.we lost the bell too. also trying to get it replaced.[:D]

Well my grandfather has over (at least) $100,000 worth of old lionels.
They might be up for sale soon.
