I would like to find other railfans in North Corolina. I moved here in 1985 and didn’t find anyone to chase trains with, but now that I am semi-retired I would like to get back into it. I live in Charlotte, NC.

Are you aware that the Disney “Scrooge Promo” train will be passing through Charlotte in early October? On 10/05 enroute from Baltimore to Atlanta, and 10/07 or 08 enroute from Atlanta to Spencer. It will be on display at the Transportation Museum in Spencer (Salisbury) that weekend.

I guy I buy slides from told me about someone In Gastonia and another guy in Greesboro that railfan. Have van will travel. Hopefully thet weather will start cooperating more.
Me and a friend from Kings Mountain will be fanning in Spencer this saturday.
There are a few of us in the Charlotte area. I live up in the Mooresville area but travel quite a bit for my job.
Piedmont Carolinas Div., National Railway Historical Society meets the second Monday of each month at St. Thomas Lutheran Church on Shamrock Road, 7:30 PM- many fans there. We would love to have you, and all of you others that have responded.
There are also about 120 of us that Train Host on the Amtrak Carolinian daily. PM me and I can provide details.
I wanted to train host when I first retired but the guy in charge then seemed rather rude when I spoke with him. Now I’m back working so no time for that.
