I would like to use Peco track for my future track plans. I don’t wi***o use the Code 100 due to its size. Code 83 is expensive and doesn’t offer much in the way of choices (yet). That leaves Code 75.
The advantages I see are that Code 75 has all the different turnouts that I need from curved to three way. Plus, there is the fantastic electrical contact of their turnouts and the excellent pricing of Code 75.
Anyone have experience with these? Your thoughts are welcome! [:)]
My mainline track and all my switches are Peco code 75 (my single sides spurs are M-E code 55, and my staging yards are Peco code 100). I love the stuff! The rails give you a much finer appearance than code 83, which is really too big for most modelling applications anyway. I went with it because of the reliability of Peco switches and their built-in throws, and I’m glad I did. It’s a bit pricey, but bargains can be found online.
A recent check of online merchants makes it appear that Peco Code 75 is actually cheaper than code 83 or Shinohara/Walthers turnouts. Yes, it is more expensive than Atlas.
