Any ZIMO users in Halifax, Nova Scotia?

I am wondering if there are any Zimo users in Halifax, NS, Canada? If so could you please email me? I’d like to learn more about your set up, how you enjoy it, etc. Cheers, Vaughn Halifax, NS

There are three guys from Nova Scotia that frequent the Coffee Shop in the this forum. They go by the names of Luc, Fergie, and Der John ( who lives in the northeast part of NS. ) Fergie and Luc live on the east coast further south towards Digby. I believe that Fergie has used Zimo in the past.

I know this (a little) and I don’t believe they are Zimo users…Nova Scotia is DigitTrax country, and I will probably be too…but that Zimo gear does sure seem pretty slick…and a few $$$ too I’m sure.

Fergie is indeed on the eastern shore…but Digby isn’t [:D]. Digby’s on the western end of tyhe province. DerJohn is also on the eastern shore, which is more southeast than northeast.

I’m in Maitland (right around the middle of mainland NS) and work in Halifax. I have an Atlas Commander for programming and testing, and my modular group uses Lenz and Digitrax at various shows. I’m unaware of any Zimo users in Nova Scotia at all. There are quite a few Digitrax users, some Atlas/Lenz, and at least a couple NCE. There also was at least one layout using EasyDCC - when the owner moved, he upgraded but I don’t know whether he went with the new-and-improved EasyDCC or with something else. The last time I checked, Zimo was the highest-priced system on the market, although it does look to have a lot of technical selling points.

If you’re evaluating systems in terms of access to local support and advice, I’d recommend Digitrax - with Lenz a close second. Digitrax has an advantage with dealers in Halifax and Yarmouth, and lots of users. With Lenz the nearest dealer is in Moncton, and most of the users I know are in southern NB and western PEI. I’ve used Lenz, Digitrax and EasyDCC, and while I liked all of the systems, local access to components and advice is a selling point for Digitrax in this region.
