Id asked this before and got no were…Need to see where BLI hooked up the rear red running lights into there paragon 2 and 3 boards…
Ed
Ed …what train engine is this from? Q2?..looks like they got another circuit board on top of the decoder…
Yes, the S2 (that’s the reason for making the quote in my first reply).
The piggyback board is the transmitter for the Paragon 3 Rolling Thunder thingy. The blue pigtail is the antenna.
Here is a pic of the board in the L1s that better shows the “add-on” transmitter nested in between all the plugs: It says BLI TX 300B on it.
I set it up, didn’t care for it and haven’t used it since.
Maybe I’ll play with it again one of these days… The Q2 markers are extremely bright so while I have the tender open I’m going to make a mask or reduce their intensity.
The PRR used those little “cat-eye” red lenses that were only about 1-3/8" in diameter.
The markers are always on as long as the headlight is on in forward. Doesn’t look right with cars coupled behind the tender. I guess while I have it open I’ll try to put a switch in there.
Humm, come to think of it, I have some of those Rapido Eezy-Peesey light bars with the reed switch! There’s my answer[Y]. Tender is brass so the magnet will pass through it…

looks like the S2 with paragon 3 is wired alittle different…the paragon2 …Q2 might be more closer…Got a PRR T1 with paragon2 and wanted to add red rear marker lights to it…Since I got you here Ed…Id picked up a PRR J1 with QSI,but id didnt have a tender with it…I did pickup a QSI that will plug into my engine…question?? Whats the springs on the bottom of the board for? Ground?
