Jerry, I’m in your same boat - I don’t even have that much money in my budget. I highly recommend a great resource at http://www.trainmarket.com/ - they have a list of old Lionel and AF and Marx accessories and trains with some pretty nifty prices.
I have several Lionel and MTH Tinplate sized signals and crossing gates.
A Lionel windmill that I have weathered with rust (but it could be cleaned off).
Lionel operating loading dock. Hmm I’ll have to think of others. Maybe some ITADs?
Oh and an extral oil derrick, the kind with the tower. I have two, one is more expensive than the other.
How much wold you offer for the least expensive oil derrick? I have never heard of the lionel loading dock, are you sure you don’t mean the piggy-back transport? What are ITADs.
Jerry,
I’ll have to check when I get home on the oil derrick.
I’m pretty sure it is the loading dock. There are two versions, animated and non-animated.
Infra Red Track Activation Device (ITAD)
Ok, thanx
The Doctor Is Back [}:)] !!! Due to A Computer Glitch(I think nayland smith had a hand in
it) I was off-line. But, The Doctor is back! Jerry, you have not called about more stuff,
Shame on you!!! I feel most slighted, for this overlooking!!! Please to right this ?
as for everyone else, I am back and will start posting advice and other things.
I Remain The Humble, Yet Strangly Evil Doctor [}:)] !
I sent you 5 letters. I was getting worried! Are you still the same email address?
Jerry, do you buy any of the train magazines? I saw a Lionel oil derrick in CTT at a blowout sale for $50.00. Mr. Spiff and Puddles are going for $20.00 at Island trains, I think. Forums are a lot of help, but your own research can bring about some great results, especially in pricing. I don’t have a hobby store nearby, therefore I depend on the forums, the magazines, and the internet for info. on prices. Deals are all around us, we just have to look!! Go to your local hobby shop, read the ads carefully in the train mags, search on the internet, finding deals is a nice side-line hobby, to the original hobby.
