I am looking at an overland GP60 on the internet, it is unpainted though. Does anybody have a good brass painter that does a good job, is quick, affordable. At an online custom painter i was quoted $300 for the paint job and working front ditchlights, any less than this would be great. Thanks for all your help, Christian |

What road? Do you have a pic of the prototype? Working ditchlight…with DCC? Where are you located? How much do you want to spend.
I am a custom painter here in Canada…and a typical paint job on a diesel like this can vary from 150-250 depending on the work involved.

I was looking to have it painted for Norfolk Southern with the dashed stripes on the rear. http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=154496 I would like to have DCC installed as well as ditchlights front and rear. I live in central indiana. Dave, let me know what you would charge. Also, do you bake the paint on the brass models you do?

Christian - I’d at least shoot an email to Jim Drennan cps3751(at)frontiernet.net He is located in northwestern Illinois and has painted hundreds of brass engines. He is very reasonable. Tell him Jerry sent you.
You can see examples of his work here:

Gerry and his son Mike at Maine Trains in Chelmsford, Massachusetts do excellent work. They do painting, detailing and installations. www.mainetrains.com to contact them.
As long as you’re doing this, I’d go with sound as well. It will cost a bit more for the sound decoder and speaker, but it’s going to be cheaper than trying to add sound later.
