Anybody know the part number for this circuit board?!

Hi Guys,

I bought this Athearn Genesis SD45 (ATHG67154) from my local hobby shop a couple of years ago and the sound has gone!

I used the parts list that came with it to order a new part from Athearn but when it arrived it was nothing like it.

If anyone has the correct parts list from the box can you let me know what the correct part number is please?

That’s an MRC sound decoder, what did they send you? Since they changed over to using the far superior Tsunami from Soundtraxx, perhaps that’s what they sent you. It’s not hard to swap them out.

You can only hope they sent you a Tsunami. Like Randy said, it’s a simple swap.

Hi Randy,

I just asked for the part number in the paperwork. 90617 Jumper board. Having a second look at the paperwork I think it is for a non-sound model because it shows a speaker plug rather than a speaker!

I am only running DC if you know a replacement that I can simply pop into the locomotive and work I am open to suggestions.

The photos show old technology. I seriously doubt you will find anything like this now. I know Athearn is supposed to be switching over to Tsunami decoders which will have a separate speaker. Don’t know if the Tsunami decoder will be available separately. I know Bachmann has Tsunami decoders but they cannot be bought separately.

In that case you got the plain DC directional lighting board. If the loco is in warranty and you paid for a sound unit, you should get a sound unit, but to run just DC you can use the plain board - naturally there will be no sound.
