Anybody watch CSI?

04.00 this morning I was standing right by the track waiting for a materials train to come down to be let into the Engineer’s Possession.

Loco was a Class 60 (ugly thing at the best of times).

When he stopped there was a distinct pattern of comment shaped blobs from the area of his left front buffer up round the cab side to the cab windows in a widening fan shape. They were about 1/4" wide at the lower, front start and 1" to 2" long… dark red/brown.

They were dry.

So we took no further action… though the Driver looked a bit green.

This isn’t a weathering project suggestion.

It is me going on about being safe out there around trains.

My relief this morning told me that last week at the same location he slipped and nearly went under… he’s still shaking.

PLEASE ENJOY YOUR TRAINS SAFELY.

(Had to think a lot about posting this… but I want you all to keep safe).

So what does this have to do with CSI?

James

I think David’s talking about splatter patterns[xx(]

It could have been some form of wildlife - I recall seeing a photo of an IC225 (high-speed electric passenger train) with similar “markings” after hitting a crow at speed. Not a pretty sight!

of The Three CSI Slueths(William Peterson:‘Gil Grissom’;David Caruso:'Horatio Caine’and Gary Sinise:‘Mac Taylor’),Gil Grissom Seems Like The Only one Who Might actually do Some Model railroading In His Sparetime.one thing’s for sure,he’d have a meticious eye for detail.

Two other TV Slueths who might enjoy Model Railroading in their Sparetime:Adrian Monk(tony Shaloub):TV’s"Monk’.It might take his mind off his OCD.Then it might drive him even further over the line.(Couldn’t you see him in a hobbyshop? He couldn’t decide which roads to Model,so he’d buy all the equipment!!)and Detctive Goren(Vincent D’Nofrio):“Law and Order:Criminal Intent”.he’d probably have a Scale Model of The NYC Subway Sytsem in his basement just so he can keep his skills sharp.

William Peterson (aka: Gil Grissom) could very well be into model trains, after all, he is a roller coaster enthusiast (as is his character, Gil Grissom). There are many enthusiasts, like myself, that model trains in their spare time, but like to do their train watching (and riding) on very different types of trains than most of you are used to. If you notice, at the end of a few episodes, he speaks of different roller coasters and amusement parks.

Well…I watch Marg Helgenberger. I guess that is CSI she’s in. Doesn’t matter as long as I get to watch her!!!
