Anyone built the walthers bascule bridge?

I just got done assembling the motor house and I tested out the motor.

The motor’s speed isn’t consistant and it’s somewhat noisy even with greese. Sometimes it stalls to, even at 5 Volts which has me worried.

I see the central drive shaft spools in and out, and that’s causing some gear slapping against parts. I’m suspecting this is the majority of the problem.

Has anybody else experienced this? Did you come up with a solution, or will it go away when I connect the rest of the bridge with it?

Maybe TWhite, but I am quite sure that Ken Mackay has one (NZRMac).

I can’t tell you from memory which issue it was, but even the MR reviewer experienced many problems building that kit and was never able to get it operating smoothly. I believe that if you perform a search on this forum, you’ll find other threads that chronicle nothing but problems with this kit.

Darn it! I was afraid of that.

I wonder if I can sub a can motor from NWSL?
