I built a Bars Mills Shipyard Brewing kit and was originilly going to put it along the back drop. Well plans have evolved and I’m thinking this would be better on a hillside, beside a river, with a paddle wheel so I will have to put the back on. I’m thinking stone work but was wondering if anyone else has modified these kits? Pictures would be appreciated!

I did that a few years ago. I don’t remember all the details. I did use platic siding that matched and some commercial windows and doors. Here are some pics. I made it slightly smaller than the front to add interest and stability.
Remeber to prime all the original parts and the new parts before painting. A coat of grey primer will keep different colored materials (just like in the recent MR article on kitbashing a coaling tower) from ending up different colors on the finished model.
