I’m looking for a neat and efficient way of routing wires within the shell of diesels with upgraded electronics (EOB, ERR, etc.) and four to six led’s and their resistors… I’d like to also provide a quick disconnect for the lighting and antenna to be able to do easy maintenance with the shell removed. Any ideas? -Dan
I use Radio Shack’s “wire clips” with adhesive backs. Also, there are “tubes” with adhesive backs.
Dan,
I just installed a PS1 unit in an MTH N/S Dash-8 that had horn only. To efficiently route wires, mainly to prevent shorts, etc. is use the smallest cable ties you can find. Radio Shack has them, but they are not cheap. I purchase most of that stuff at True Value Hardware store, price was around $2.09 for a small package. Above all, keep the wires routed below or above the circuit boards, there is not much space on the sides of the circuit boards. Also, use a rubber band or masking tape to tape the two wires to your proto-couple to the motor before they go down thru the frame to the coupler. This prevents abrasion of the wires on the frame.

Thanks for your suggestions…Have either of you ever tried making a sort of circuit board and tying that to molex connectors? Sounds like it would work but I havent tried anything like that yet…-Dan
